Another great weekend, loving all this fresh snow, most of Allegro took to the air this weekend on World Cup, with much success, and of course, a little carnage, check the attachments to view some of this weekends photos. Looking forward to this weekend, 5 to 8 inches, on its way.
 
WOW!!!!, the A Team is off to a great start, three attended the Mogul Opener at Sugarloaf, walking away with two top 5's. Selections also went very well, Brit and Tim both secured their Nor Am spots, and are good friend Eliza won single moguls on Sunday, just missing a World Cup start. Stratton Freestyle is going to take the Loaf by storm, the B-Team is sending 16 athletes to EQS championships this weekend, now that’s definitely a record. Good luck to all. 
 
After the awards ceremony at that Weinsteins, an 8" by 10" hand drawn portrait of Stevek was unveiled, 250 copies have been printed and individually numbered, prints are being sold for $50.00, all proceeds to benefit the Stevek Foundation.  If you will not be at Stratton the last two Sundays of the program, and want one of these prints please mail me a check for $50.00 made out to the Stevek Foundation, also include a check for $12.50 made out to WCW to cover shipping, and your return address, you will receive your order in few days.

We are all geared up for the 2nd Annual Stevek Mogul Challenge coming up this weekend.  Have you registered ? To do so, please go to www.eastfree.org . If you do not have a USSA license go to www.ussa.org  and buy a Junior or Rookie License based on your age. Online registration closes on Wednesday. 
 
The Mogul Challenge will kick off on Friday with a training day.  All Team members and mogul competitors are welcome.  The course opens at 9:30am. There is no line up at Ski School, all competitors are to make their way to the course and a fleet of coaches will be waiting.
 
Remember the slips!  We may shut down the course at anytime and ask for your participation.  There will be a mandatory slip at 11:45am and 2:30pm - all skiers must attend.  Unfortunately we will not have are beloved Poma for the competition, we encourage you to use the Snow Bowl Chair. 
 
See the attachment for Saturday and Sunday schedule.  Don't miss the National Anthem performed by Allegro's own, Lesley Baird, and a massive display of forerunners by the Stratton Freestyle A Team and staff - 9:30am sharp. The grill will be fired up, so stop by for burger or dog. Be sure to keep a look out for our two limited edition Stevek Mogul Challenge items. Good luck to all.
 
We will also be holding a raffle to benefit the Stevek Foundation.  You can win an official Stratton Freestyle Team Jacket - a $90 value.  Tickets are $5 each or 10 for $20.  Look for the signs at registration or see Tony.

HI Everyone,   We are looking forward to a great weekend next Sat & Sunday for the 2nd Stevek’s Mogul Challenge.   Many of you have already registered.  If you haven’t you may go to www.eastfree.org and register on line until Wednesday Jan 19th.   If you are a new member of USSA – please bring a copy of the fax with your USSA number.  We will collect either a $10 bib deposit or the USSA card as a guarantee of the bib being returned at the end of the meet.

If you child is here on Friday for training, we need volunteers in the Ski and Board Club room ( over Customer Service) at  1:30 to organize bibs and packages.   Please just come – we always have a good time.   You and your child can pick up his packet at 3:30 in the Club room on Friday.  Otherwise registration starts at 7:30 Saturday morning in the Club room.

There is an awards banquet and videos of the day’s competition on Saturday night at 6:30 (cocktails) & 7:00 (Pasta dinner).  All parents and friends are welcome to come for a $20. Fee.   Competitors meal is included in the meet fee.

12/07/04 The Killington B meet will be a go, make sure you have your USSA card. Registration I believe is up and running if not, be patient, it will come online.

A date to put in your calendar will be Sunday January 9th. Stratton is holding the Kids Nextsnow Search. This event is open to kids ages 9 - 14, it’s a combination of Park and Moguls and will have television coverage. Stratton will be sending the top four finalist to Keystone CO. to compete in the Sports Illustrated Kids Nextsnow Search. This event is open to everyone and will be a blast so please plan on attending, you don't want to miss this one. Event info and Registration available at the Stratton Info desk or at www.stratton.com This does conflict with Sugarbush, but one day at Sugarbush should do, we will staff Sugarbush on Sunday (if necessary).

03/24/04 Championships went very well for Stratton, we had 13 athletes competing over the weekend with 5 of them earning a top 10,

Moguls was on Saturday the girls had 3 top 10 finishes out of 27. Stephanie Feinberg placed 10th, Austin Ebbott took 7th and Brittany Lowerre was 3rd. The Boys placed 1 in the top 10 out of a total field of 63, Jerret Schunk had a very nice run putting him in 9th place and not far behind was Ax Hayssen in 13th. - "great job"

Sunday was the air competition and the Flying Nelsons were in true form both landing huge 720's. Tim placed 15th and Scotty had a top 10 finish ending up 9th out of 50 boys. Scott placed 5th in the combined and Stratton ended up 4th in the team competition - "very nice"

We would like to congratulate all the Stratton athletes who qualified for Championships and gave it their all during the competition.

HOW TO ACCEPT or DECLINE INVITATION TO REGIONALS - If you will not be attending please decline ASAP to Eastern Freestyle's Vice-Chair Larry Titus by email at: ltitus@hfti.com so that alternates may be invited. Athletes or Coaches must accept their invitations by registering online OR e-mailing Larry Titus at: ltitus@hfti.com. If you have not accepted your invitation in one of the ways listed to do so by 11:59pm on Wednesday, March 4th - your invitation will be revoked and we will move down the alternate list. If you or your coach accepts by email to Larry, remember, athletes must still register online at http://www.active.com or fax to organizer.

ALTERNATES - Your best bet is to camp out at http://www.eastfree.org  as we will update frequently. As soon as your alternate status changes to a full-fledged invitation - you will have 24 hours to accept. At this point you should follow the instructions above.

NOTE - If you know today as you read this that you have no intention of going to Regionals if invited - please feel free to let Larry know and he will update the initial invitation list with that information.

IMPORTANT - As voted upon at the EFCC Spring 2003 meeting and written in the 2004 USSA Competition Guide and explained in the 2004 Eastern Newsletter - athletes may only compete in their own region's Regional Final. Wild cards will not be reassigned if an athlete moves into the EQS Championships as an alternate. We will fill the event quota from the season ending EQS Points list.)

02/05/04 The B's will be at Mount Snow. Matt and Marty will both be there on Saturday, Matt will coach the air comp. and Marty will be on Beartrap for those of you who want to train bumps. Registration is at the Alpine Training Center at the main mountain base area in front of clock tower facing the hill on both days. Try to be there by 7:30 am. They will have Training tickets for bumps at air registration. Sunday I will be there with Marty for mogul day.

12/24/03 The B Team competed for the first time this year at Killington on
December 20th and 21st.  Stratton did a fabulous job.  On Saturday the girls first place winner was Brittany Loweree (high score for girls and boys!), Stephanie Feinberg was 5th, Jessica Grody and Eileen Tucker tied for 8th; for the boys, Ethan Sufian was 3rd and Tristan Tully 10th.  On Sunday Brittany Loweree came back to win it again, with Stephanie Feinberg in 6th and Jessica Grody in 8th; for the boys, Andrew Sufian was 4th, Ethan Sufian 7th, and Tristan Tully 8th.
