USSA Membership

For new members see attached form or you can print it out yourself at: http://www.ussa.org/PublishingFolder/assets/Files/fsformsmembussa.pdf

Youth Competitor License ($30)*: This license is for our EQS "B" skiers who are 12 and younger prior to Dec. 31, 2003. These athletes will be scored to the Eastern Points list that is available on line at www.eastfree.org.

Rookie License ($40)*: This license is for athletes new to USSA. It would also be for the older EQS skiers that are competing for the first time and do not qualify for the Youth Competitor license.

Competitor License ($90): This license is required for all of our ECS "A" skiers. This license is also necessary for our older EQS skiers who do not qualify for the Rookie license due to former years of participation with Youth licenses.

*The Youth, Rookie or first year Competitor license are not subject to a late fee. Athletes renewing their Competitor licenses are subject to a $15 late fee if received by USSA after Oct. 15th.
Registering for Eastern Meets

Once you are a current member of USSA, there are three ways to register for an Eastern Freestyle competition:
1. Remember you must register for events by the Monday at 11:59pm prior to the event or you will be charged a $15 late fee.

2. Peferred Method: You may use on-line registration by going to the web site, www.eastfree.org. Click on the flashing green lights for the events you want. You will need to provide a credit card for payment in full and to specify which events you will compete in at the competition for which you are registering. For multi-event competitions you may choose "none" for events you do not wish to participate. The charge for registering online had been built into the meet costs last season. This year you will see them as a separate charge when you register. This is NOT an increase in cost you are just seeing it as a separate charge this year. On line registration closes on the Monday prior to the event.

3. You may also register using the paper form that is can be downloaded from www.eastfree.org. Please find the appropriate event organizer's address to send it to. Fill out the form and send it in the mail or fax it with credit card #.

4. You may register at the competition. For EQS skiers there is always the risk that the meet will fill up. For ECS skiers if you register the morning of the event your start order will be placed at the END (That's new for 2003-2004!) of the run order, as according to the rules, the run orders are processed the night before the event.

Eastern Divisional Dues ($25): This fee is mandatory to compete in the ECS and is paid to USSA at the time that you pay for your membership (license). USSA forwards these fees to Eastern Freestyle to help pay for competition bibs, radios, etc. EQS skiers that move up to the ECS mid-season pay this fee to the event organizer at their first ECS meet and the organizer passes it on to the Eastern Office.
